Croatian international defender Josko Gvardiol has renewed his contract with Manchester City until 2031, the English club announced today.

“Josko Gvardiol has signed a new five-year contract, an agreement that will extend his stay at Manchester City until the summer of 2031,” the ‘Citizens’ stated on their official website.

The 24-year-old defender is preparing for his fourth season at Manchester City—having joined from Leipzig in the 2023/24 campaign—during which time he has already won the Club World Cup, the UEFA Super Cup, the Premier League, the League Cup, and the Community Shield.

“As soon as I heard City wanted to renew my contract, I immediately felt that was what I wanted,” the player said, as quoted by the club.

Manchester City—which has seen the departures of manager Pep Guardiola and captain Bernardo Silva, and whose squad includes Portuguese players Rúben Dias and Matheus Nunes—heads into the upcoming season with Italian manager Enzo Maresca at the helm.
