Aníbal Mosa, president of the Chilean club Colo-Colo, stated on Friday that an agreement has been reached with Josimar Dias—known as “Vozinha”—the starting goalkeeper for the Cape Verde national team, who stood out during the 2026 World Cup.
“The first point is to confirm that Vozinha will be a Colo-Colo player,” Mosa said before the match against Deportes Limache—a Chilean league game led by Colo-Colo—at the Monumental Stadium.
“We have an agreement; the final details are being ironed out, but we already have confirmation from his camp and his agent. We reached an agreement based on the proposal we submitted,” he added.
The executive did not disclose the terms of the deal but noted that the goalkeeper would travel to Chile in the coming days to undergo routine medical examinations.
The Cape Verdean goalkeeper was named to the 2026 World Cup “Best XI,” a squad that includes three players from the champion team, Spain—among them midfielder Rodri, who was voted the tournament’s best player—and an equal number from France.
The player, who gained 30 million Instagram followers thanks to his World Cup performance, is a free agent after ending his contract with Chaves, a club in the Portuguese second division.
Vozinha’s agent had previously acknowledged the negotiations, stating that the Chilean club “is a South American giant, and it is a source of pride that they have shown interest in Vozinha.”
“He is extremely happy, and representing Colo-Colo would be a great opportunity,” the agent noted. Vozinha played four matches for Cape Verde at the World Cup—which featured 32 participating teams for the first time in history—conceding five goals; he notably shone during the 0-0 draw against the reigning champions, Spain, with whom they shared Group H.
The African team made history by qualifying for the Round of 32 in their debut World Cup appearance, and the goalkeeper also excelled with saves against finalists Argentina, who won 3-2 in extra time and advanced to the Round of 16.
