South Korean footballer Lee Kang-In has signed with Atlético de Madrid for the next five seasons, running until June 2031, after the Spanish club reached an agreement with Paris Saint-Germain for the transfer, both clubs announced today.

The 25-year-old winger leaves the French champions—whom he joined in 2023—to join Diego Simeone’s squad. He becomes the Madrid side’s third signing for the new season, following the arrivals of Spanish full-back Alejandro Grimaldo (from Bayer Leverkusen) and Danish midfielder Morten Hjulmand (formerly of Sporting).

Conversely, the Madrid club has already parted ways with French forward Antoine Griezmann, who transferred to Orlando City, and defender Clément Lenglet, who moved to Benfica on loan.

Lee Kang-In joined Valencia’s youth academy at age 10 and made his first-team debut in October 2018. After three seasons with the Spanish club, he transferred to Mallorca, where he revitalized his career before signing with Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2023.

During his time with the Parisian club, he played 124 matches, scoring 16 goals and providing 16 assists, while winning several domestic titles and two consecutive Champions League trophies.

A South Korea international with 50 caps, Lee Kang-In was part of the squad that recently competed in the 2026 World Cup, a tournament from which the team was eliminated in the group stage.
